Much underestimated, Keanu Reeves has often been the object of ridicule for his wooden acting style, his monotonic line delivery and  his poor choice of roles (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure anyone?)  so, when moi heard that one of the seminal works of his oeuvre was going to be translated from the motion picture screen to a live stage performance, moi dispatched Tintin to evaluate how well the transition was effected.  In particular, moi was interested to see how they would fill the Reevesmeister's role. The venue was Dragonfly, a bar/club in Hollywood that was also th e location of the infamous Miss Kitty's Parlor, which moi had attended on a number of occasions, so moi felt that Tintin would feel right at home.

Moi is sure you remember Dragonfly - the infamous pole for go-go dancers to pirouette around....

As moi noted, the event took place at Club Dragonfly

...the elegant bar...

,,the delightful outdoor patio, now sadly denuded of its fetish crowd denizens

As the show was about to begin, Tintin donned the recommended survival poncho, for he had been advised that lots of fluids would be flying

To achieve verisimilitude, the individual playing the Keanu Reeves part was solicited from among the audience by the director

A volunteer DUDE soon stepped forward and was kitted out in surfing gear

And the play began, adhering closely to the main plot, mostly.  The Keanu DUDE was prompted by a prompt girl with flash cards, the better to achieve the desired woodenness of performance

No expense was spared on props, or was it that the props involved no expense?

During the interval, Tintin POSED by the Keanu-Cam, used when the action spilled out on to Santa Monica Boulevard

And no show that Tintin attended would be complete without some crossdressing, in this case, a gay FBI agent (indeed!!)

After the recreated surfing scenes, the five man sky diving scene, car chases and a pseudo mystical ending, there was naught for it but to head for the valet parking.
