Erika's Annex Page 450 - Watching Miss Universe in Pacoima

Some might go for the flashy extravagance of actually attending the Miss Universe competition, when it is being held in Los Angeles (Trish and Sharon, you know who you are). But not moi and the ladies of the Imperial Court. Instead, we decided to watch it like the common folk, gathered around a big screen TV in the western LA suburb of Pacoima (and when moi says western, moi means waaaaay out west).

Of course, everyone picked a favorite, and moi reverted to moi's roots

Needless to say, if moi found out that there was wagering going on, then moi would have been shocked - SHOCKED!

But no, just a group of girlfriends getting together to celebrate female beauty

And these are what all the fuss is about

And SOME DUDE from New Orleans showed up

Needless to say, there was a TWG on hand - in this instance, Michelle

There was an outdoor red carpet to pose on

And indoor POSING too

Of course there was food

And many mouths to feed

And so, everyone relaxicated as they waited for the event to begin

And then, there it was, in living color in the living room (or Liebensraum,as the Germans call it)

Moi will not bore you with a recapitulation of what moi knows that you all watched, with bated breath, cheers on your lips and a tear in the corner of your eye. So just a few representative shots will suffice to establish the mood

And it should come as no surprise to you that one of the Imperial Court's own - Nikki, ended up as Miss Puerto Rico and MISS UNIVERSE 2006
