When the synopsis of a play promises the
story of a life from boyhood to womanhood,
moi has to check it out, or at least send
faithful sidekick Tintin to do so. So it was
with the one woman show "Before I
Disappear", at the Avery Schreiber Theatre
in North Hollywood, or NoHo as those of us
in the know refer to it as.

Accompanying Tintin was moi's friend "N",
adding color to the event, due to his
professed anonymity (or was it
androgynosity?).

Then there was a couple of hours of solo theatrical
performance. The audience laughed, it cried, there
was DRAMA, there was singing, and at the end,
everyone felt exhausted but empowered, drained but
exalted, emotional but elated (or so Tintin tells moi)
|
|
|
|
After the show, why it was time for Tintin and "N" to meet
the star herself, Alexandra Billings
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
And what could provide a nice coda to the evening's entertainment? Well,
Tintin and "N" were mere blocks away from The Lodge (it being on the
edge of the NoHo Theatre District, and, parenthetically, too often the scene
of its own style of drama)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
